Oh boy, oh boy, or should I say, oh girl? The “Dear White People” sensation, Ashley Blaine Featherson, is on cloud nine, and so are we! She’s embarking on a thrilling adventure—motherhood. Alongside her hubby, Darroll Jenkins, they’re prepping for diaper duty and sleepless nights. Yup, they’ve got a bun in the oven.
Ashley spilled the beans with a heartwarming video on Instagram. And guess what? They chose Beyoncé and Rumi Carter’s “Protector” as their soundtrack. Talk about setting the mood! The caption was a tearjerker, promising to be their little one’s guardians until she’s ready to conquer the world on her own.
The video kicked off with a sweet shoutout to their upcoming bundle of joy. “See you soon. We love you,” Ashley gushed. She couldn’t help but hope the baby would inherit her looks, at least a tad. But, knowing genetics, she playfully conceded the baby might just be her hubby’s mini-me.
Swipe right, and you’re on a rollercoaster ride through their IVF journey. Doctor’s appointments, injections—you name it, they’ve been through it. And then, the big reveal. They’re pregnant! Their joy was palpable, and so was their family’s.
Fast forward to the big announcement: a baby girl is on the way, due in August 2024. Pink hearts all around!
Let’s rewind a bit. Ashley and Darroll’s love story is one for the books. From friends to forever loves, they’ve come a long way since 2018. They sealed the deal with a dreamy wedding in September 2021. And on their anniversary? Ashley shared a throwback pic that screamed “Forever Us.”
