Alexa and Brennon Lemieux, stars of the Netflix series Love is Blind, are about to become parents. The couple met and got hitched on the show’s third season. Now, they’ve revealed that Alexa is pregnant with their first child. They’re excitedly expecting a “baby Lemieux” soon.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the couple shared their news and spilled the beans about their conception journey. They’ve been keeping the pregnancy under wraps until now. Alexa confessed, “It’s been such a big part of my life [and] I’m the worst secret keeper.” She found out she was pregnant last November and is thrilled to finally share the news. The couple’s bundle of joy is due this summer.
Getting pregnant wasn’t a cakewalk for the pair. They’ve been trying since their wedding in June 2021. Alexa admitted, “We’ve been trying for almost a year and a half, so it was a lot.” They even tried fertility treatments, but to no avail. The fear of not being able to have kids was real for them. Thankfully, just before they were about to start IVF treatments, they conceived naturally.
Reflecting on her pregnancy, Alexa said, “I just love looking in the mirror, because I remember not being pregnant and looking in the mirror and [thinking], ‘Oh, I just can’t wait for something to be there.’ Now there is, and I’m like, I love it!” She’s obsessed with her growing belly and can’t stop rubbing it.
The struggle to conceive took a toll on Alexa. She confessed, “For me personally, and this isn’t how I view women, but I was put on this earth to be a mom.” Since childhood, her dream was to become a mother. When conception became a challenge, she felt stripped of her womanhood. She felt broken, but now she’s over the moon.
The couple is now looking forward to their new chapter. They’re house hunting, keeping in mind their future nursery and backyard. Brennon added, “Every day is another rollercoaster. Because you’re trying to plan stuff for the future. And now I just think that [I’m] looking at plans differently. Not daily plans, but future plans differently.”
