Ashley Cain, former soccer player and reality TV star, has become a father again. He announced the birth of his second child, almost three years after losing his first child to a rare cancer in 2021. His simple, heartfelt message? “Welcome to the world my son.”
Back in December, Ashley shared the news that he was expecting a boy. The identity of the baby’s mother remains undisclosed, but Ashley has mentioned they’ve known each other since he was 18. However, they’re not in a relationship.
On January 16th, Ashley welcomed his son, Aliyas Diamond Cain. The first picture of the newborn featured him in a hospital, donning a white hat with his name knitted in light blue, clutching his father’s hand. Ashley’s Instagram caption was a touching pledge to his son. It read, “I will love you, appreciate you, guide you and protect you with all of my heart, for the rest of my life. & you will have the most beautiful guardian angel heaven holds watching over you and protecting you too. Welcome to the world my son. May your body be strong, your mind be wise, your heart be loving and your spirit be pure and truly powerful.”

Ashley also took time to explain his son’s name in the comments. The letter ‘A’ is a family tradition, shared by his father and uncles. The name ‘Diamond’ is a nod to his grandmother and their family name. It’s a tribute to their Vincentian roots, hailing from a small island.
His daughter Azaylia, whom he shared with ex Safiyya Vorajee, also carried the middle name Diamond. Tragically, Azaylia passed away at just 8-months-old in April 2021 after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia. Following her death, Ashley established The Azaylia Foundation, an organization committed to battling childhood cancer.
