Ashley Cain, the reality star and ex-footballer, recently announced he is expecting another child, following the tragic loss of his baby daughter, Azaylia Diamond, in 2021. His announcement was made during an interview with The Sun on Sunday, where he divulged that an old acquaintance, whom he dated earlier and has known since 18, is pregnant.
The joy of the news, however, was tempered by his past painful experience. He stated that the prospect of having another child post losing one was hard to fathom. Yet, he considers each child to be a divine blessing. The new bundle of joy is expected to be a boy.
Azaylia, his daughter, was diagnosed with a rare and extremely aggressive cancer type in October 2020. Despite receiving a stem-cell transplant, the cancer made a deadly return in February 2021. Ashley emotionally revealed that even chemotherapy couldn’t save her, leading to her untimely passing in April 2021. Azaylia was Ashley’s child with his former girlfriend, Safiyya Vorajee.
Following the announcment of his impending fatherhood, Ashley penned his sentiments on Instagram. He indeed acknowledged his own grief but still strived to support those around him in their battles. He also shared his goal of realizing the promises and commitments he made to his late daughter to improve the world for the following generation.
Despite facing relentless criticisms during Azaylia’s terminal battle and even after her passing, he reiterated his readiness to endure it all to uphold his daughter’s legacy. He also assured of his commitment to be an active and nurturing father to his unborn son.
