Elon Musk’s Twins’ Names Finally Confirmed, Almost 2 Years Post Their November 2021 Birth

July 2022 marked the moment the world learned that Tesla creator Elon Musk quietly became a father to twins with Shivon Zilis, his colleague at Neuralink. However, no additional details about the twins were shared at that time. This situation changed a year later when names of the twins were revealed.

The emergence of this information regarding Musk’s eighth and ninth children happened through court documents filed by the couple in Texas where the twins were born. Their birth in November 2021 has been previously known, but with critical details edited out. Recently, in a TIME magazine conversation linked to the promotion of his upcoming biography penned by Walter Isaacson, Musk disclosed the twins’ names. Included was an image of the twins with their parents, Musk and Zilis, who named their babies Strider and Azure.

Musk, also the founder of SpaceX, is a father of ten but the twins represent the only kids he has with Zilis. Following the birth of the twins, he welcomed another child, this time via a surrogate with singer Grimes in December 2021. Their daughter, who is known simply as Y, carries the official name of Exa Dark Sideræl. They had their first child, a son, in 2020, named X Æ A-Xii but he is referred to mostly as X.

Further extending his paternity, Musk is also the father to Vivian, Griffin, Damien, Kai, and Saxon. A son named Nevada was sadly lost to sudden infant death syndrome at just 10 weeks old.
