Celebrated comedienne Iliza Shlesinger is soon to be a mother for the second time! The star of Good on Paper recently disclosed her pregnancy alongside a unique video that tackles the issue of gender reveal trends and their environmental consequences.
In the video, which parodies a customary gender reveal party, scenes of guests enjoying pastries and sipping champagne were portrayed. The fictitious couple in the clip got ready to unveil a box designed to discharge balloons revealing the baby’s sex. However, in a twist, Iliza herself emerged from the box, pronouncing, “If you didn’t know balloons were bad before, it’s okay, we all know now. Global warming is such a huge issue and there’s not a lot you can do but what that least you can do is not release balloons, selfishly, into the air…The least you can do is not rent a private plane and spray color dyes all over your neighborhood. And the very least you can do is not accidentally start a fire by concocting homemade pyrotechnics that will burn down your community.”
In her annotation, Iliza authored, “WE’RE SO EXCITED… that no one had to die when we made the announcement! Remember, save the planet, our kids have to live here.” She highlighted the thrill of declaring a new baby and the importance of being mindful of the impacts of such practices. Iliza later officially announced her pregnancy stating, “This February, I’m having a boy”.
Iliza, featured in The Righteous Gemstones, relished the arrival of her firstborn with her husband, a daughter named Sierra Mae, back in January 2022. The comedian made sure to acknowledge her daughter in her announcement, stating she eagerly awaits the baby with numerous toys at hand.
On receiving the news of their second child, Iliza and Noah are showered with congratulations from all quarters.
