Well, folks, Kailyn Lowry just became a mom of seven! Yep, you heard it right. The Teen Mom alum spilled the beans on the latest episode of her podcast, Barely Famous. She and her boyfriend, Elijah Scott, are now the proud parents of twins.
These little bundles of joy are Kailyn’s sixth and seventh children. And they’re her second and third with Elijah. Back in October, Kailyn announced she was expecting twins. And in November, she shared the gender of the twins – a boy and a girl. The baby girl is Kailyn’s only daughter, by the way.
During the podcast episode, Kailyn let slip that her twins were 6 weeks old at the time of the recording. They were born 5 weeks early, but she didn’t reveal their exact birth date. And she’s keeping the names of her little ones under wraps for now.
Kailyn also dished on her birth experience and the twin’s NICU stay. She had to have a c-section because her son was breech. This was a first for the “Pride Over Pity” author. She confessed, “I was terrified, because I’m like, ‘I just don’t love this idea.’” The procedure and the medication stressed her out. She even shared a note she had written on her phone at the time: “I hated every minute of it, wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.”
In addition to the c-section, Kailyn chose to have her tubes cut. “They cut my tubes out. I don’t regret it. But also if I did not get my tubes taken out and got pregnant again it would not…like it wouldn’t have upset me.”
The mom of seven expressed a sense of completion. “The chapter of motherhood will be closing as far as baby-making, but I’m excited for my kids. Now I feel like our family is complete — I won’t have anything missing. I won’t feel like, ‘What if we had another one?’ I’m excited to explore this motherhood journey in terms of privacy and putting out what I want to put out. I’m excited for that.”
She also reflected on the fact that four of her children now share a birth month. “I’m a little nervous about having four babies in one month. I don’t know what birthday parties are going to look like, but I’m excited to see how this goes. Isaac is going to be driving before I know it, so it’s just a bunch of milestones all at one time — lots of new beginnings and also closed chapters, I feel.”
Apart from the twins, Kailyn has a son named Rio with Elijah, born in 2022. She also has two children with her ex Chris Lopez, Lux and Creed. There’s a son named Lincoln with her ex Javi Marroquin, and her oldest son Isaac is with her ex Jo Rivera.
So, a big congrats to Kailyn and Elijah on the arrival of their twins! We can’t wait to learn their names, if the couple decides to share them.
