Kali Uchis, the singer-songwriter, is expecting her first child! She and her partner, rapper Don Toliver, can’t wait to welcome their little one. The “Moonlight” singer expressed her joy, “Mom & Dad can’t wait to share our life with you.”
They chose a unique way to share the news. A joint Instagram video, featuring clips from Kali’s pregnancy journey, was their medium of choice. It included moments like a doctor’s appointment and even some childhood videos of the couple.
The caption of the post was heartfelt. “Starting our family❤️🩹 don’t take too long to get here little pooks, mom & dad can’t wait to share our life with you,” the “After the Storm” singer wrote. Kali also shared the video on her Instagram Stories, expressing her excitement about the upcoming arrival.
She said, “The greatest moment of my life was when we first heard your heartbeat. Since then our new little family has already taught me a love I’ve never known. To a lifetime of more greatest moments.” The couple, however, kept the due date a secret.
Don Toliver, the “No Idea” rapper, confirmed his relationship with Kali in 2021. He shared with W Magazine, “We’re not crazy public or nothing like that. We just vibe.” In the same year, they traveled to Kali’s home country, Colombia, for a music video shoot.
They shot two music videos for his album Life of a DON: “What You Need” and “Drugs N Hella Melodies.” Kali featured in both, and Don got to meet some of her family. He said, “I already had it in my mind to go out there and shoot a video with her incorporated into it, to make it a real-deal situation.”
