Kane Brown, the country singer, had a special Christmas Day announcement last year. He and his wife, Katelyn, shared that their family was set to grow in the coming year. Their third baby was on the way.
Fast forward to now, and they’ve spilled the beans on the baby’s gender. They did it in a fun, family-oriented way with a gender reveal video. The video starts with Katelyn behind the camera, quizzing the “Bury Me In Georgia” singer about his baby gender guesses. His response? “It’s a girl.”
But the video doesn’t end there. It shifts to their first daughter, Kingsley Rose. Born in October 2019, she’s asked if she’s curious about her new sibling’s gender. Katelyn then brings out a small cake. It’s white-frosted and decorated with three bumblebees buzzing around flowers. The text on it reads, “What will baby bee?”
The “Thank God” singer then explains to Kingsley that the cake’s inside color will reveal the baby’s gender. The video finally cuts to the family around a table. The parents plunge champagne flutes into the cake, revealing a blue interior. It’s a boy! The family’s excitement is palpable.
This new baby boy is a first for Kane and Katelyn. They already have two daughters, Kingsley and 2-year-old Kodi Jane. Kodi’s birth was a surprise announcement on New Year’s Day 2022. The couple hadn’t previously shared their expectancy news.
They’ve got a fun family tradition going on, too. Everyone in the Brown family has a name starting with “K”. A Nashville friend of Kane’s, also with a “K” name, teased about this pattern. He suggested, “Keep the KB initials and name him Keller Brown.” Kane’s response? A playful, “how’d you know!”
Regardless of the name they settle on, we’re eager to find out. And of course, a hearty congratulations to Kane and Katelyn on their baby boy news!
