Mark Ballas, the professional dancer, has just taken on a new gig: fatherhood. He’s a pro on Dancing with the Stars, and now he’s announced the birth of his first child with his wife, BC Jean. The baby’s arrival was announced with a simple, heartfelt message: “Welcome to Earth my son.”
On November 5th, Mark and BC Jean became parents to a baby boy. They named him Banksi Wylde Ballas. The couple shared the joyous news by posting a close-up picture of them holding their newborn’s hand.
Mark and BC Jean aren’t just a couple, they’re also a band. They perform together as the indie duo Alexander Jean. Back in June, they announced they were expecting a baby this year.
Mark’s Instagram post announcing the birth was flooded with congratulatory messages. His co-stars from Dancing with the Stars were quick to send their well-wishes. Charli D’Amelio, an influencer who danced with Mark on the show’s 31st season, was ecstatic. She commented, “CONGRATULATIONS!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH!!!!”
Other professional dancers chimed in with their support. Lindsay Arnold, Sharna Burgess, and Peta Murgatroyd all sent their love. Lindsay, who became a mom herself in May, wrote, “The sweetest fam I love you guys.” Sharna was taken with the baby’s unique name, commenting, “Banksi 😍 what a name! So perfect, congratulations you two.” Peta, another new mom, shared, “The best!! Love you Banksi.”
Last month, Mark shared a video of himself singing. He chose a song by Alexander Jean, his and BC Jean’s band. The song is called “So Small,” and it reflects on this new stage in his life. In the caption, he wrote a heartfelt message to his unborn child, promising to be the best dad he can be.
