Oh boy, guess what? Surfing icon Kelly Slater’s about to ride a whole new kind of wave. Yep, he’s stepping into fatherhood once more! He and his long-term love, Kalani Miller, just dropped the baby bomb on us. They’re expecting their first kiddo together. Now, Kelly’s no spring chicken at 52, and Kalani, the brains behind MIKOH, is 36. They’ve been all loved up for a sweet sixteen years.
So, how’d they spill the beans? With an Instagram video, of course. It was all artsy in black and white, showing them all cuddly and walking on the beach. Kalani was rocking a black bikini, baby bump on full display. And guess what? They had Ben Harper’s “The Three Of Us” setting the mood. But, classic move, they kept the juicy details, like the due date or the baby’s sex, under wraps.
Oh, and here’s a fun fact from 2019. Kalani once dished on how she and Kelly first locked eyes. It’s kinda cute – they were both in the surf biz but had never bumped into each other. She was with Roxy, and he was hanging at the Quicksilver booth. Despite being in the same circles for ages, their paths never crossed until that one magical moment. And bam, it was like time stood still.
Kalani even hinted at their family plans in that chat. Coming from a family of four and Kelly from a family of three, she joked about the chaos of traveling with a big brood. Maybe two or three kids, she mused. Well, this little one will be Kalani’s first but Kelly’s second. He’s already got a 28-year-old daughter, Taylor, with Tamara Mitchell.
