Tom Payne’s household just got livelier, way livelier. The “Walking Dead” alum and his partner in crime, Jennifer Åkerman, are now proud parents to identical twins. That’s right, not one but two bundles of joy. They spilled the beans in a PEOPLE exclusive.
In their own words, “We’re over the moon!” April 1st, 2024, marked the day their duo turned into a quartet. “An entirely unexpected and wonderful surprise,” they gushed. And guess what? There’s already a big bro in the mix. Harrison, their firstborn from January 2022, is thrilled. Imagine that, from solo spotlight to sharing the stage with two siblings.
Tom quipped, “Harrison must’ve wished for this. A house bustling with folks is his jam.” But, the twins’ names and sexes? Mum’s the word on that.
Oh, and check this—Tom and Jennifer are now podcasters. “California Dreamin'” is their brainchild. It’s all about their rollercoaster ride from twin shock to their adventures in parenting, sprinkled with LA life and career juggling. Episode one dives into the twin surprise and the fact that twins are a new concept for both their family trees. “It’s a whole new world for us,” they shared, buzzing with excitement.
Their love story? It’s been a journey. From first sparks in 2013 to an engagement in 2018. They planned a 2020 wedding, but then, well, pandemic twists. So, they tied the knot at home in December 2020. Jennifer’s Insta post was all feels, “We just wanted to be married, pandemic or not.” They did throw a grand New York City bash in 2022, vows and all.
